Comments (0) Lewis Hamilton, also known as Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England in the year 1985 on the 7th of January. He is a part of the Mclaren team and is a British Formula One racing driver. His love for racing and speed began at a very early age.
When he was just ten years of age he wanted to be a part of the McLaren team and did not have to wait too long for it. In less than three years Lewis Hamilton was signed as a part of their Young Driver Support Programme. He went on to make his Formula One debut twelve years later and won championships like the British Formula Renault, Formula Three Euro series, and GP2 championships.
His contract of being a part of the young driver development programme resulted in him securing a contract for an F1 drive later. In the year 2008 Lewis Hamilton was declared the 2008 Formula One World Champion. He is also known as “the first black driver in Formula One” because of his mixed background. His father is black while his mother is white. Apart from this Lewis Hamilton is also the first one from the black heritage to win a very major and important race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He won many records in the subsequent years and finished second in 2007 just one point behind Kimi Raikkonen.
Even though he tasted a lot of success in the year 2008, the following years saw some downs in his career. Lewis Hamilton won a few titles at the Grand Prix he was still not able to compete for the 2009 championship. Then in the year 2010 Lewis Hamilton finished at the fourth position.
